Letting Go

Letting Go

That is where we are today as a society. Living our life as we’re clinging to a rock such that our life depends on it.

The analogy I want to share here is different though in 2 important ways:
(1) the actual clinging I am referring to is in our belly, but equally strong as on the picture and equally “physically real”. It is draining our true powers. It’s as if we have (4?) hands at the base of our spine clinging to the spot, 2 from above and 2 from below.
(2) For most of us adults in the Western world, there is no abyss underneath...! It’s more like the floor is just 1 cm underneath our feet — can you picture this?! Those hands are clinging as if our life depends on it but we’re only a centimeter away from the “floor”. We’d laugh out loud if we’d see such a comic scene in a movie …
Letting go would make all the difference!
The problem has become that even when we realise this, we can no longer let go spontaneously or “on demand”. Our body has become so used to the clinging that the clinging has become our default state.

That is too bad. Because it’s that clinging that underlies our fears, the chatter in our mind, the unhappiness and unhealthiness,…

The good thing is that we can do something about it once we have realised the state we are in. And it’s exactly this letting go that we need to navigate the crazy times we are now living in.

Or to put it more bluntly: you know what happens when we can really really really let go? Instead of “falling down” we start rising up, as in the hot air balloon or elevator
